GOES 13 is an American (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) geostationary weather satellite that was launched by a Delta 4 rocket from Cape Canaveral at 22:11 UT on 24 May 2006. It carries the usual set of GOES monitors: imager, sounder, Space Environment Monitor package, X-ray imager, energetic particle detector, and ground-data relaying equipment. It was placed in orbit originally as a spare.
