The TIDE H0 CDF files contain H+, O+, and He+ data below 411 eV. Data are available for 1996-03-27 through 1996-09-30. Data is
accumulated over the 6-second Polar spacecraft spin. For each ion, the files contain moments density, velocity (Vx, Vy, Vz),
temperature (T_perp and T_para) and spectogram for differential energy flux versus energy (flux averaged over spin and polar angle),
differential energy flux versus spin angle (flux averaged over energy and polar angle), and differential energy flux versus polar angle
(flux averaged over energy and spin angle). Support data includes EFI spacecraft potential (adjusted by +2 volts), magnetic field
location, spacecraft ram direction, plotting information, and several parameters that describe the instrument status and details
about the data processing.

Spins Averaged: the number of spacecraft spins over which the data is averaged for each time period. For
ISTP TIDE CDFs, no spin averaging is used, spin_avg=1.
Minimum count subtracted. If sub_min = 1, the minimum count in each spin of data was
subtracted as a means of reducing the noise level. If sub_min = 0, no minimum count subtraction was done.
Spectrogram count option: Three options for plotting counts in spectrograms. The counts plotted in the
spectrograms can be the sum (1), the average (2), or the maximum (3) of the data whose ranges are specified in spect_lim.
For the ISTP TIDE H1 and H0 CDFs, the counts are averaged.
Source of b-field data: The b-field data (mag_az and mag_el) can either be from TIDE telemetry (0) or from MFE
high time resolution data (1). For ISTP TIDE CDFs, bfld_source=0.
Moments calculation limits: The range of the energy, spin, and polar angles used to calculate moments. There is a minimum and
maximum value for energy (eV) and each angle (degrees). For the ISTP TIDE CDFs, the full ranges are used.
Spectrogram summing/averaging limits: The range of the energy, spin, and polar angles used to create the spectrogram averages.
There is a minimum and maximum value for energy (eV) and each angle (degrees). For the ISTP TIDE CDFs, the full ranges are used.
EFI spacecraft potential offset: Correction value added to each EFI spacecraft potential value.
+2.0 was used in the ISPT TIDE H1 and H0 CDFs.
Mask correction factor: A background mask, generated by averaging data with signal excluded, is subtracted
from each six second set of data. Each Mask count is multiplied by the Correction factor in order to avoid over- or under-correction
for the mask. In the the TIDE H1 and H0 CDF files, a correction of 0.8 is used.
